Many aspects of our early lives
Many aspects of our early lives condition us to believe in scarcity.
Someone else's success must come at the expense of someone else's. Here are some examples of scarcity:- In the sporting world if a rival opponent/team does very well, even in a competition in which you aren't taking part, it lowers your chance of finishing first.
- Scarcity suggests that there is one pie, of fixed size, that we all share.
- And that increasing your piece of the pie means reducing someone else's.1.
We feel jealous and envious of those who have enjoyed good success and fortune, because we believe it came at the expense of others (like ourselves).
- Consider instead subscribing to the belief in the Law of Abundance.
- This law flies in the face of what we are conditioned to believe.
- It states that success can be created at NO EXPENSE to anyone else.1.
- We are happy of other people's success and fortune, because it reminds us of how much success and fortune is out there and we can create for ourselves.
- I was born and raised in Ottawa, and have lived in Calgary since 1991.
I like playing sports (hockey, soccer, ultimate, basketball, you name it) and military board games.
I also enjoy reading, walking, and playing with my 2 cats Lilly and Brutus. I'm a database application specialist, whatever that is..
